Senior Software Engineer

Location: Tampa, Florida

Build the infrastructure behind better decisions.

Larx is building decision intelligence infrastructure for mission-critical environments—transforming complex, fragmented data into clear, actionable insight.

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help build and scale the Larx platform. You will develop robust software solutions for multi-source data integration, AI-enabled analysis, and operational workflows while helping shape the technical foundation of a fast-growing company.

This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys solving difficult problems, working across disciplines, and building dependable systems for users operating in complex, high-consequence environments.

What You’ll Do

Build and Scale the Platform

  • Design, develop, and maintain the software systems that power Larx’s decision intelligence platform.
  • Write clean, efficient, well-documented, and scalable code using Python, JavaScript, and related technologies.
  • Build and optimize APIs, backend services, data pipelines, and database architectures.
  • Improve platform performance, reliability, security, and scalability as Larx grows.

Integrate Complex Systems and Data

  • Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and product leaders to integrate advanced analytics and AI models into operational workflows.
  • Connect disparate data sources, services, applications, and analytical tools within a unified platform.
  • Ensure interoperability across cloud, edge, on-premises, and mission-specific environments.
  • Translate complex technical capabilities into dependable, intuitive product experiences.

Solve Hard Problems

  • Develop new approaches for ingesting, processing, analyzing, and presenting complex data.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify data workflows and reduce cognitive burden for users.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and determine where they can create meaningful product or mission value.
  • Work through ambiguity and make sound technical decisions in a rapidly evolving environment.

Strengthen the Engineering Team

  • Work closely with Larx’s CTO and leadership team to align engineering priorities with product and company strategy.
  • Contribute to architecture decisions, technical planning, and engineering best practices.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support their technical development.
  • Help foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing engineering culture.

Deliver Reliable Software

  • Develop and maintain automated testing, debugging, and quality-assurance practices.
  • Support system monitoring, logging, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and reliability issues.
  • Build software that users can trust in mission-critical environments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a related technical field—or equivalent professional experience.
  • Five or more years of professional software engineering experience, including experience building and maintaining production systems.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, JavaScript, or comparable programming languages.
  • Experience developing APIs, backend services, databases, and data-intensive applications.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, automated testing, debugging, and performance optimization.
  • Experience working collaboratively across engineering, data science, product, and design teams.
  • Ability to operate independently, manage competing priorities, and make progress in a fast-moving startup environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A thoughtful, pragmatic approach to technical problem-solving.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in one or more of the following areas is especially valuable:

  • Decision intelligence, data fusion, or operational intelligence platforms
  • AI/ML model integration and agent-enabled analytical workflows
  • Distributed systems and high-volume data pipelines
  • Structured and unstructured data processing
  • Knowledge graphs, graph databases, or advanced data architectures
  • Cloud, edge, on-premises, or disconnected deployment environments
  • Secure software development for mission-critical applications
  • Defense, national security, aerospace, energy, or other complex operational domains
