Capture Manager
Location: Tampa, Florida (Remote considered for the right candidate)
Turn mission needs into winning opportunities.
Larx is building decision intelligence infrastructure for mission-critical environments—transforming complex, fragmented data into clear, actionable insight.
We are seeking a Capture Manager to lead the development and execution of capture strategies across the defense, intelligence, and federal markets. You will identify and qualify opportunities, build relationships with customers and partners, and coordinate the cross-functional work required to position Larx for successful contract awards.
This role is ideal for someone who understands how government customers buy, can translate mission needs into compelling solutions, and knows how to move complex opportunities from early identification through proposal and award.
What You’ll Do
Lead Capture Strategy
- Develop and execute capture strategies for priority federal opportunities.
- Lead opportunities from initial identification and qualification through proposal submission, award, and transition.
- Build customer, competitor, partner, pricing, and procurement intelligence for each pursuit.
- Establish clear win themes, value propositions, discriminators, and competitive positioning.
- Create and maintain capture plans, opportunity timelines, action registers, and decision gates.
- Assess probability of win, resource requirements, risks, and expected return to guide investment decisions.
Build Customer Understanding
- Develop a deep understanding of customer missions, priorities, challenges, budgets, and acquisition strategies.
- Build trusted relationships with government stakeholders, end users, program offices, contracting organizations, and industry partners.
- Translate customer needs into clear requirements and solution concepts for Larx’s product and engineering teams.
- Identify opportunities to shape requirements and acquisition approaches before solicitations are released.
- Represent Larx at customer meetings, industry events, conferences, and partner discussions.
Shape Winning Solutions
- Work across product, engineering, sales, and executive leadership to develop solutions aligned with customer requirements.
- Translate Larx’s technical capabilities into clear, mission-focused value propositions.
- Coordinate solution development, teaming strategies, pricing inputs, technical demonstrations, and customer engagement.
- Identify and secure teaming partners, subcontractors, contract vehicles, and other resources required for each pursuit.
- Ensure proposed solutions are credible, differentiated, executable, and aligned with Larx’s broader strategy.
Drive Proposal Readiness
- Lead capture-to-proposal transitions and ensure proposal teams receive a complete, actionable capture strategy.
- Coordinate with proposal owners and subject-matter experts to develop compliant and compelling responses.
- Support the creation of executive summaries, technical narratives, management approaches, past-performance materials, and oral presentations.
- Organize and participate in strategy sessions, color-team reviews, and solution reviews.
- Maintain accountability for deadlines, assignments, dependencies, and required approvals throughout the pursuit.
Manage the Opportunity Pipeline
- Identify and qualify opportunities aligned with Larx’s capabilities and growth priorities.
- Maintain accurate opportunity data, capture status, customer insights, next steps, and forecasts.
- Monitor federal acquisition channels, budget activity, contract vehicles, and market developments.
- Provide leadership with clear recommendations on bid decisions, capture investments, partner selection, and pursuit strategy.
- Conduct post-submission and post-award reviews to identify lessons and continuously improve Larx’s capture process.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, public policy, national security, or a related field—or equivalent professional experience.
- Five or more years of experience in federal business development, capture management, government contracting, or a related role.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex federal opportunities through capture, proposal, and award.
- Working knowledge of federal acquisition processes, procurement methods, contract vehicles, and solicitation requirements.
- Experience developing capture plans, competitive assessments, win themes, teaming strategies, and bid recommendations.
- Ability to understand technical products and communicate their value in mission and operational terms.
- Strong project-management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders, priorities, and deadlines.
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and operate independently in a fast-moving startup environment.
- Willingness and ability to travel as required for customer meetings, industry events, and partner engagements.
